Citizenship Exam 2026 – USA
iOS App ID: `com.mosaicmindsstudio.usacitizenshiptest`
Android App ID: `com.mosaicmindsstudiollc.citizenship_test_android`
Developer: Mosaic Minds Studio LLC ("we", "us", "our")
This Privacy Policy explains how Citizenship Exam 2026 – USA (the "App") handles your information on iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
The short version: the App has no accounts and shows no ads. Your name, ZIP code and study progress stay on your device. To sell Premium and keep your purchase working, the App uses Adapty and Apple or Google Play. Adapty may read your device's advertising ID. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the advertising ID to show you ads.
1. Information you enter in the App
To personalize your study plan, the App may ask for:
- Your first name, so the App can greet you
- How you are applying (for example, the 2025 or 2008 civics test) and your interview date
- Your age and years as a permanent resident, used only to tell you whether age-based test exemptions (such as the "65/20" rule) may apply
- Your state, ZIP code and congressional district, used only to show the right answers for location-based questions (your senators, representative, governor and state capital)
- Your daily study goal and reminder time
This information is stored only on your device. ZIP codes and districts are looked up in data built into the App, not on the internet. We never receive this information.
2. Study progress
Your answers, scores, streaks, mock test history and practice settings are stored only on your device and are used only to show your progress and choose which questions to review.
3. Purchases and Premium
Downloading the App is free. Some study features are part of Premium, which you can buy in the App as a weekly subscription, a monthly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Current prices are shown in the App before you pay.
You can close the paywall and keep using free parts of the App (browsing questions and answers, setup, settings, local officials and interview-day guides). Premium unlocks practice sessions such as flashcards, quizzes, listen mode, the podcast, mock tests, the virtual officer, English reading and writing practice, N-400 officer questions, and detailed progress.
When you buy or restore Premium:
- Apple (App Store / StoreKit) or Google (Google Play Billing) takes the payment. We never see your full card or Play/App Store password. Their privacy policies apply to that checkout: Applehttps://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/) and [Google](https://policies.google.com/privacy).
- Adapty (AdaptyTech Inc.) runs the paywall and tells the App whether Premium is active. Adapty may receive a purchase token or receipt, product identifiers (weekly, monthly or lifetime), subscription status, your device and app identifiers, country or storefront, and an advertising ID if your device provides one. See [Adapty's Privacy Policy](https://adapty.io/privacy/).
We use this only to unlock Premium, restore a purchase you already made, fix billing problems and understand which plans people buy. We do not use purchase data to show you advertisements.
4. Advertising ID
The App does not show advertisements.
On Android, Adapty adds the Google permission to read the **Google Advertising ID**. On iPhone and iPad, Adapty may read Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) when the system allows it.
Adapty uses that identifier, together with device and purchase events, to:
- Attribute a purchase to a store or marketing source
- Reduce fraud and duplicate accounts
- Measure how the paywall is working
This is not used to personalize ads inside the App. You can limit or reset it:
- iPhone and iPad: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads (wording varies by device), or delete the advertising ID
If you turn it off or reset it, Premium still works. Purchases go through Apple or Google as usual.
5. Microphone and speech recognition
The Virtual Officer mock interview and spoken-answer practice can listen to your answers. This needs your permission for the microphone and, on iPhone, for speech recognition. You can say no and still use the App by answering with buttons or typing.
- On iPhone and iPad, speech is converted to text by Apple's speech recognition. On supported devices this happens on the device. On other devices, your voice may be sent to Apple to be transcribed, under Apple's Privacy Policy.
- On Android, speech is converted to text by your device's speech recognition service (usually Google). When on-device recognition is available the App uses it. Otherwise your voice may be processed by that service under its own privacy policy, such as Google's Privacy Policy https://policies.google.com/privacy).
- The App uses the transcribed text only to check your answer during the session. We do not record, save or receive your voice or transcripts.
6. Answer checking with Apple Intelligence (iPhone only)
On iPhones that support Apple Intelligence, you can turn on smarter answer checking in the interview settings. It uses Apple's on-device language model, so your answer is checked on your iPhone and is not sent to us. You can turn it off at any time.
7. Notifications
If you turn on daily practice reminders, the App schedules notifications on your device. The reminder text (for example, your practice score and streak) is created on your device. No push notification service or server is used. You can turn reminders off in the App or in your device settings.
8.The officer's voice
The officer's voice and other spoken audio in the App are pre-recorded audio clips made with an AI voice service (ElevenLabs) and included in the App. When the App plays them, nothing is sent to ElevenLabs or anyone else. If a clip is missing, your device's built-in text-to-speech voice may be used instead, also on your device.
9. Links to other websites
The App links to official government websites such as uscis.gov, senate.gov, house.gov and usa.gov. These open in your browser and are governed by those websites' own privacy policies.
We use Adapty to manage in-app subscriptions and purchases. When you make a purchase, Adapty processes the transaction through Apple's App Store infrastructure. Adapty may receive:
- An anonymous user profile identifier
- Subscription status and transaction receipts
- App Store product identifiers
Adapty does not receive your name, journal content, or any other personal data from the App. For details, see Adapty's Privacy Policy https://adapty.io/privacy).
10.Backups
Your device may include the App's data in device backups (such as iCloud Backup or Android backup), depending on your device settings. Those backups are handled by Apple or Google under their terms, not by us.
11. Deleting your data
Because your data is only on your device, you control it:
- Use Settings → Reset progress in the App to erase your study progress, or Redo setup to change your profile.
- Deleting the App removes all of its data from your device.
12. Children
The App is meant for adults preparing for the U.S. naturalization test. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
13. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the CCPA/CPRA (California) or the GDPR (EU/UK) may give you rights over your personal information. Because we do not collect or store personal information about you, there is no data held by us to access, correct, delete or move. Your data stays on your device and you can manage it as described above.
We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
14. Changes to this policy
If we change how the App handles information, we will update this policy and its effective date, and we will update the App's privacy details in the App Store and Google Play. If a change adds any data collection, we will ask for your consent in the App first where required by law.
